Since 1994, Waikato Valley Chocolates has been crafting fine New Zealand chocolate exclusively for The Warehouse. When designer Matt Battye of makeitpop.co.nz was creating packaging for three chocolate Easter eggs, he engaged us to produce photorealistic 3D renders of the final packs.
Working from supplied print-ready artworks and a die cut template, we 3D modelled the Easter egg packaging from scratch and produced photorealistic renders of all three designs. Each pack was rendered from multiple angles – front, back and side – to give a complete visual library. The high-resolution visuals were supplied for multi-use across The Warehouse’s marketing materials, sales presentations and wider promotional activity.
The resulting imagery gave makeitpop a flexible library of renders for use across the project, allowing the full range to be presented consistently and professionally without the cost and logistical complexity of photographing every product variant. 3D rendering also allowed the packaging to be shown from multiple viewpoints and in different contexts without the limitations of a traditional photo shoot.
Matt’s wider packaging design work delivered standout shelf presence, with illustrated backgrounds, type lock-ups and characters created for each egg. The packaging was designed to grab attention before it was even picked up, connecting with customers and giving the product that irresistible “take me home” factor. Our 3D renders provided an important visual element within that project, helping showcase the final Easter egg packaging clearly and professionally to buyers and consumers.
